Which Colt AR model?

Call Bullseye. Ask for Randy. Only Randy. Tell him you'll put money down to reserve it. Or if you are REALLY wanting it, I can go by and chk for you. Get him to hold it or whatever.

I got them on GB from phase5suppy. They actually used to sell new barrels in bulk for pretty good prices. 3, 5, and 10 count quantities. The more you bought the cheaper they were and they would throw in free shipping. I bought them when all the Colt issues started to become more a reality a few months ago in the event something happened and you couldn't get anymore at reasonable prices. At least that's the story I told my wife. lol. I have plenty of guns so I just wanted extra parts.
Smart. Halo knows what he's doing. Colt bbls = Snake guns one day?

I am with buying the entry lever rifle and building on that. For the same money you spend on exactly what you want you can build a solid, accurate firearm.
When I posted this I meant buy the entry level Colt and then proceed. Not just any old entry level gun. That way you still have a kick ass gun until you start the mod process.

I wouldn't buy a 500 dollar AR if you paid me. Spend a grand and get a quality firearm to build from.

Yea I figured what you were saying but I dont think you need to spend a $1000 to get a good foundation. In fact I found that aside from difference from dealer to dealer, you can't spend $1000 and get a better rifle than if you were spending less. Either you gonna spend about $800-$850 or you're going to spend about $1200-$1400.

I have a Colt and I love that gun. I build most of my guns myself now but I still have two left overs. One is the Colt and the other is a Core15. Those two off the shelf guns I refuse to get rid of. My little Core15 M4 piston gun is an excellent gun. One of the tightest, well made guns I have ever purchased off the shelf. I wouldn't sell that gun for nothing. It doesn't carry that high priced gun name but it will match any one of them shot for shot. I don't know what it is about that gun but I love it. There are a lot of small manufacturers out there that put out great products. I wouldn't take anything for my Colt either.
