I'm sorry, but after I got the bills for two ambulance rides in one day (one from family doctor to the hospital, the other hospital to better, heart hospital), I'd take my chances with these yokels!
I agree, the cost is ridiculous.
It's one of those "they do it because they can" ripoffs.
Got one for a heart attack (mildy concerning) in 2006. "Out of Plan" crack smokers wanted $1,680. The hospital was 1.3 miles from the hotel where I called EMS. They gave me one aspirin.
I told them to keep sending me the unadjusted bill and I might pay on it.....when Hell froze over.
They knocked it down to $600.
Guy is the glasses is a paramedic.
This isn't far from the truth......
