I've never been highly knowledgeable about what parts fall into what serial number ranges. There's always small stuff to look for like lot numbers and specific date codes. Anyone know of a book or someone on here who is really knowledgeable about period correct Garands. Maybe bring me up to speed.

I would only correct it if you had less than 10 parts/bit/pieces needed. That's reasonable. Sell the excess and go enjoy your rifle.
