Who knew that Praying Mantises were an exotic pet?

I bought eggs, similar to these several times. Hatch them out and release in garden. Bought lady bugs and other such critters as well. Was once a beekeeper... talk about an expensive hobby

Funny story;
When I was a car salesman there was a praying mantis perched on the side of an ashtray outside. One of the salesman got the slick idea of taking a cigarette and seeing how close he could put it to the praying mantis before it reacted. He got that cigarette about 1 inch from that praying mantis and that joker flew right up in his face. That dude let out a belt at such a high pitch that I don't think a 13 year old girl could have made. There was about four of us around and we laughed until we it literally cried. He tried to play it off as it was all cool and everything but it was just nothing but. I think that's one of the funniest things I've ever seen in my life. I just wish I could have got that on video. 🤣

None this time but 2 people had dogs. Tan long haired mini daschunds, I kinda wanted one of those. Someone else had Frenchies and Bulldogs.
This is a dapple female we used to have. Great dog.
A few years ago, I spotted a mantis laying eggs. In my garage. Between the treads on the tire of the car I drove everyday.
I carefully removed the egg sack and put in a small box nearby.
Later the sack appeared empty, but I can't be sure. I never did see any babies.
