Whole house water filtration system recommendations? House is on city water.

Here are just a few of the systems that I have supplied and installed for clients on city water. These are top of the line, digitally controlled, low maintenance systems that are not available from LOWE's H.D., or any other big box stores.

That system looks like it's installed in a basement. What is available for the average 2000 sqft single level 3 bdrm 2 ba home? How long does the filtration last/how often do you have to change filters or media?

The equipment pictured will handle what you have without restricting water flow, and the control valve on the softener uses a metering system - back washing is determined by water usage. The carbon filter needs to be refreshed every 3 to 4 years.

I also have systems for larger homes with 5+ full bathrooms that require higher flow rates.
And I have low maintenance NSF certified drinking water filters that are designed specifically for use on city water.

Do you have any before and after test results showing how well that system does at filtering and what it filters?

Improving the quality of city water is relatively easy because the city filters out the big chunks, elevates the pH, and disinfects the water before it leaves the 'treatment' facility.

Private well water is an entirely different game, and it can require several types of equipment to address multiple issues. I specialize in iron reduction, and succeed where others have failed.

Express water makes some good products that you can use for mild to high purification levels. A good sediment filter is an easy way to filter actual sediment like when a water line bursts from the main or the distro lines to catch dirt. I use one of those on my main line into the house. But as far as dissolved solids go, you can use their other products. I have a whole filtration kit with pump and UV filter in my wish list for a SHTF portable water filtration system.
