Very true! I bought a tandem axle 14' flatbed two or three weeks ago, they are HIGH!
Cheaper if you go to Alabama. Not too far across the line at the factory where they build them. Great folks that I deal with. I've sent several there that bought from them. Baggett Trailers
I know someone that has a 5x8 listed for trade .

No joke!
Hoping to buy one today (6x16) and the things have literally DOUBLED in price from a few years ago!
I’ve got a 5x8 that I bought in 2003. The only regrets was I didn’t go 5x10 instead.
Just my opinion I would buy at least 6 ft. wide because of hauling and re sale. Mowers now a days are wider and the chute sticks out more too.
I know how you feel. I have had a 5x10 for a while and now I need a 6.5-7 so my zero turn will fit.
