Because I'm stupid and lack self control. I only acquired 3 complete guns but bought about 15 ak/rpk parts kits and receivers and built my own. Building your own allows you to build what you want and how you want it. Highly addictive.
When i was a child i always wanted a new hot wheels car. I already had a pile of them but if i found one i didnt already have id want it. Now you can replace hot wheels with fire arms. If i find one im interested in and dont already have ill get it.
Also half the fun with anything (atleast to me) is the "hunt" to find what you want for a decent deal. This is for anything, cars, guns, boats, quads, etc. The search for the next one is more fun usually than the actual purchase

I knew a guy who started getting serious about the same time I did , only he had much deeper pockets ! He always bought three ... one for him , one for his daughter , and "one just to leave in the box"... shrewd idea for down the road returns on your investments but this guy refused to part with anything he ever bought regardless of value or lack thereof so I always wondered about that one ... so many years have passed and his collection must be warehoused by now . His grandson will no doubt be the lotto winner of this heavy collection , so if the guy turns out to be uninterested in guns I will give you all a shout-out ... AFTER I get there first ! Oh , what was my point here ? That with the same cash in pocket I'd probably have that many TOO ! How about ya'll ?
