Why only sell to GA residents? Legitimate question.

Just wondering why all the adds list GA residents only. Is this a GA law or something. I am in TN and we can buy and sell to whoever, as long as there is a BOS. I have bought from GA in the past with no issues is why I ask. Apparently no one that is posting this can tell me why it is. Actually the ones I have asked acted like they are 12 and want to insult you for bothering them, but they cant tell me what the issue is. Im not trying to stir anything up or scam someone, just buy some guns, legally.

Because a sale by a GA resident to a GA resident doesn't require the hassle of going via an FFL. Same for TN.

As soon as the trade is across state lines, it becomes a federal transaction, and therefore subject to federal laws.

It's just more hoops to jump through (including costs) for the seller - and the buyer.

Just a hint - you might find that sellers who indicate that they're willing to ship - are a bit more receptive to an interstate sale.

1) You can't legally sell a private firearm to a unlicenced (non FFL) individual in a different state.

2) Neither GA or Tennessee requires a bill of sale for private sales of firearms between two people living in the same state.

3) If I sold you a firearm with you living in another state and we did a bill of sale that would only serve as evidence of our crime.

4) If you want to buy a firearm from a ga resident request that they send it to your FFL in Tennessee so it's done legally.

Hope this helps.
