Dad's on the board with it now....84 years old and still the Baddest Mutha in the Jungle. (Viet Nam - Artillery Liaison flying with 1st Calvary Division, An Lao Valley, Silver and Bronze Stars, "Beware the man with the big patch, that's no gentle Horse.")
First kill with the rifle after the half cock conversion.
Picked it up tonight. A sound Marlin 336, 1985 mfg by the SN and after initial inspection and test fire, a good bore and plenty accurate. Will give it a good scrubbing inside but it looks like nothing more than lite speckels, clean sharpe microgroove rifleing all the way thru the bore...
At first I was opposed to changing it from its original configuration, especially adding camo, but you’re using the old girl instead of keeping it in a gun case. Well done!
