WIndows 10 upgrade?

I have Windows 7 Home Premium and that's where it will stay.

rumor has it that later next year they will cease support for Win7, Features on websites wont work and Applications will cease support soon after.

as far as the "I Cant find anything in Win10" or the "I refuse to go to Win10 because it sucks", Crowd

it doesn't take a rocket scientist... but if you like, we can ask one

Just bit the bullet and upgraded the home PC. Been having blue screen issues with the 7 install.

Upgraded the work machine at the mandate of my employer. 10 isn't that much different, it's manageable.

Three days left . . . .

Desktop has Win7 and free upgrade option runs out in a week. So, do it or not?
Fairly light use. Generally email, surfing, light MSOffice use. Son uses it for video editing,
He has 10 on his laptop, no real issues to note.

What say ye?
really, depends on the pc and its specs...I had a baddass desktop pc two years ago that had xp and modern internals....I upgraded to a newer windows software and it didn't like it...at all!..... its, trial and error and depends on how computer savvy you are and how your patience is ...

Well somewhat of a split decision I guess. I JUST went ahead and did it. Unchecked every option since they all appeared to have tracking. At least the install appeared to work. Looks like I lost one driver. Other than that doesn't appear painfully different (not a touch screen). We'll see I guess when/if my wife starts screaming. :)

Is there any ADVANTAGE to upgrading? I don't have any complaints about my 5-year old computer's performance on Windows 8.1
I've only got 4 GB of RAM, and it's a 64 bit system.
I don't want any hassles, down time, or bugs from the switch-over.
And of course I don't want to load spyware or adware or other tracking programs into my machine.

10 is solid, but it does do a lot of reporting back to the mothership. In theory none of it is personal info, but it's almost impossible to remove and no one but MS is really sure what they are collecting.

This is my objection to 10, there's a lot of hidden data harvesting going on and I deeply resent it. I will go to Linux when 7 dies. I suspect browsers and so forth will support 7 for quite some time. I don't generally care abut MS patches.

Yup. I am migrating all of my personal and business machines to Linux. % Micro$ucks. Nutella is going to drive MS into the ground.
