Wood Porn, Hasselhos stay out!

Not mine but identical to it!

I'm a sucker for a wood stock stock with the right grain and texture, and I'll even admit that I have bought rifles simply because something unique about the grain of the stock caught my eye. When I found this Marlin Texan I got lucky. The rifle was a model I had been wanting for a while, and the stock was fantastic. I just refinished the stock set a few days ago, and I took these photos after a final coat of wax this evening. I stripped the tired original finish and applied 7 or 8 coats of Truoil (no stain), hand rubbed and smoothed between coats with fine steel wool. Small scratches were sanded out while leaving the few deeper marks to show the rifles well earned character.

And another I did in just scarlet red with polished but plate, barrel band springs, and end caps.
