WW2 1911A1 questions

So the serial number on the frame indicates it’s a 1944 production within the Remington Rand production range. Slide is marked Remington Rand. Behind the firing capture plate there is a letter “G” stamped.

Barrel has two markings, “HS” and something other I can’t make out on the other side near the link.

Not familiar with these WW2 guns and I have no reference material on hand.
A lot of stuff on the internet, seems in a lot of the forum a people ask specific questions and they never get answered.


anyone know if this an older CMP gun? Came in the cardboard box seen wrapped in brown wax paper type material.

Serial number was intentionally blacked out.

Any help would be great. Thanks
