I just don't understand why the auto manufacturers don't just make an EXACT copy of the old cars, except upgrade the safety equipment, like bumpers!?!

Imagine if they made an exact copy of a 1970 Chevelle! Don't clean the lines up, don't change the window angle, don't change the wheelbase, etc. It was perfection so why not just duplicate it?

Primarily it's safety and crash standards. Old designs just don't fit current requirements.

man my 2020 has been a huge letdown! started with 30 plus Mpg, check engine light comes on Chevy makes the repair now 20 miles to the gallon! 3.0 liter in line 6 diesel

Yep ! And upgrade interior a little ….But not much !
They couldn’t keep them in stock if they did this !
