Sort of depends on intent. Target, long range, combat, pocket, and concealed carry, many choices and you have chosen (Sig 226) combat service full size gun.

It's really a great weapon and a top shelf gun. Hard to beat. If I had a full size HK USP, a Sig 226, a Glock full size, an FN full size, a Springfield XDM full size and a nice 1911 all in the same caliber and had to make a choice, I'd be like a woman at a 50% off shoe sale who could only get one pair. I Well

It's really hard for me to hate on any of them as they are all fine pistols. Someone else is going to have to pick a "best" as this may take me a while.

Very wells said to use a nutnfacy term a go to war gun to narrow things down

I like the options mentioned... but I'd have to pick the one I shoot the most- G34. Not the easiest to carry, but it's the one I can hit the target with the best at most any range (but let's be reasonable).
