  1. Damn expensive hobbies!

A friend of my Dad had one and it was such an docile and fun plane to fly. I was an “airport bum” back in the 70’s as my Dad had a Luscombe, Cessna150 and a 1946 Fairchild 24W. I soloed in a Champ when I was 16 and that’s where my love of General Aviation came from but I decided to go the ATC...
  2. Damn expensive hobbies!

We both got first class tickets on the pain train. But hey, you wanna play, you gotta pay. 😆😆😆😆
  3. Damn expensive hobbies!

Love those Ercoupes. 😍😍😍😍. Does it have rudder pedals?
  4. Damn expensive hobbies!

Proximity flying in a wing suit is awesome but I never got the chance. Met Jeb a few times when we jumped the New River Gorge Bridge, WV.
  5. Damn expensive hobbies!

My medical bills from skydiving and BASE jumping were and still are expensive. Just finished having the discs between C5-6, C6-7 replaced with cadaver bone, bone spurs removed from C5-6-7 that had grown into my spinal cord and nerve running down my left arm and a plate installed to fuse C5-7...
  6. Converted some pallet racking into a welding workbench

That turned out very nice. 👍🏻
  7. Oil Lamp Hobby

No bulb will ever be as nice as the warm glow of an oil lamp,
  8. Anyone interested in gardening or plants?

I have plant stands with grow lights in my basement and will start my tomato, squash, zucchini, cucumber seedlings at the end of Feb as the last frost up here in the mountains is usually mid-April. Also grow turnips, collards, sweet potatoes, carrots, strawberries, green beans, spinach, lettuce...
  9. Tractors

Outstanding collection. I learned to drive a tractor on my Grandad’s JD B model. Learned real quick to use brakes for turning or that tricycle gear front end would just plow ahead in soft dirt and a hand clutch lever taught you to plan ahead.
  10. Ham Radio People Metro ATL

Kenwood, Yaesu and Icom are the most common and are top quality. I lucked out and got my Yaesu FT-736R (vhf/uhf) and Patcomm 2000 (HF) radios here on the ODT. They came from an estate sale and were still in the box. As the old guys die off more and more radios and gear will be available so I...
  11. Attn. US coin collectors

I do and have found a few pre-65 quarters, dimes but I doubt many folks use cash bills anymore and receive change. I guessing many under 25 may not know what coin denominations are.
  12. Tonight’s yield

Excellent. I canned 11 jars of pickles, fried a bunch of squash and zucchini and give away a mess to my mail lady.
  13. North GA Offroading

Looks good. I went from 35’s to 33’s as I spend 99% of my driving on mountain roads and the Broncos are top heavy with a good tendency to roll. 35’s were just a bit too tall with a lift.
  14. North GA Offroading

But the fun is you get the chance to break, tear up and fix more stuff.
  15. North GA Offroading

    :becky:
  16. North GA Offroading

    That’s an expensive jack.
  17. North GA Offroading

Bwaahaaaa I bought it 1995 for $2500. Put a lift, engine, seats etc and it’s part of the family now...And it’s the only truck I know how to work on.
  18. North GA Offroading

Don’t go nearly as much as I use to because of spinal injuries as I can’t take much beating and banging anymore. This is my EDD 74 Bronco
  19. Gardeners beware of Aminopyralid!

It’s amazing how many chemicals are out there and the long term effects they are creating yet it’s pretty much kept quiet unless it directly impacts you or someone you know.
  20. Gardeners beware of Aminopyralid!

Well I removed all of the soil from the two raised beds, replaced it with new Jungle Growth and luckily Lowe’s had some nice Roma and Better Boy tomato plants. I normally raise my plants from seeds using grow lights but it’s too late to start a new batch so hopefully these Bonnie plants will do...
