I gave up at 11:00. Didn’t see any this morning. Although with all the dense fog, and the condensation dripping off the leaves like a light rain they could have been sneaking by...
Yeah, up here on my property I continue to carry my crossbow most of deer season if all I’m looking for is meat. I don’t have many shots beyond that range anyway due to the thick cover. I too have had those days where I regretted it and lost an opportunity for a nice buck, but rarely. I just...
I‘ve been jealously following the few posts on here of those of you who have been out hunting and getting some deer so far this year.
I wasn’t able to get up here to hunt until last weekend. First hunt of the season was Monday morning and I saw 4 doe, but they had come up behind me and were...
First few years of college all my solo hunting was done by getting there and back in my 68 Mustang. Took it down some dirt roads that later would get my 2wd Ford Ranger stuck... Anyway, you make do with what you have available if it’s important to you.
I’m carrying my bow because I haven’t been able to get a shot this year and I want some meat for the freezer. We have almost no doe days up here and most every time I carry the rifle I only see does within bow range...
I’ve been carrying my crossbow several days this past week and this week. Wondering if my shoulder is ever going to get well enough to start shooting my bow again. Haven’t been able to ge5 a clean shot at anything yet and saw nothing the past two morning. Hoping to get a chance to go out at...
Gunslinger. Standard holds 250 and big boy holds 350.
I have a Millenium climber, a Lone Wolf, a Summit Viper and have had many others in the past. Gunslinger is always my first choice unless I leave a long hike in or am using a bow. Super comfy and provides several options for moving your...
Did they license that design from Ravin? Or is it different from the Ravin? Looks like the same thing with just a quick look.
I remember seeing those when Ravin brought them to market a while back and thought it was a really cool design. Was very leery of spending that kind of money on a new...
Good choice. The thing that really stands out to me with my Lone Wolf is the compact footprint once on my back. The light weight is one thing, but I’ve carried other lightweight stands that don’t carry with nearly the same ease. It just feels lighter and is closer to the back, not hanging up...
It really is quiet and secure and lives up to the advertising hype IMO. I can climb with it very quietly. Not a huge platform. The seat is narrow so if I was any fatter I would want the wide model. No way to climb with your gun or bow unless strapped to your back.
My favorite all-day stand is...
My go-to lightweight stand if I have a long steep hike is a Lonewolf climber.
Biker13 had a Warren & Sweat Rifleman for a screaming deal a while back. Those are crazy light and easy to climb if you like the ones that face the tree. Not a good bow stand though. The Lonewolf is great for a bow...
