19 Raptor, cam phasers replaced at 52k under warranty, sometimes very hard downshift into 1 if you stop fast.
I hold the accelerator down and delay the start until I see oil pressure to avoid killing another set of phasers. I never let it auto shut off in traffic. I hope the starter is made...
The challenge with that trailer is the length. Most people are going to want a longer trailer. 14GVW technically cannot be pulled legally without a CDL. 14K in 16 feet of deck is a highly dense load. Is it labeled 14k GVW on the Vin plate ?
Using synthetic oil and idling the motor for 30 to 60 seconds before shutdown will usually extend the life of the turbos. I never shutdown after using full boost without staying off boost for a few minutes. I just take it easy when I am getting close to a destinatio.pn
I wouldn’t call low sulphur diesel odorless. Are you sticking your finger in it and smelling it or just expecting fumes from the tank while you are filling to come out?
My 2019 with 51k is getting phasers in a couple of weeks. I am hoping if I prime the engine oil, it will not need it again in another 50k. This one is under warranty.
Check the connector for the speedo. Find the wire that has 12v after the ignition switch is off, get a wiring diagram and see where that color wire goes. Was anything changed or added to electrical system. If there is no wire with 12v on the speedo connector it is probably something seeking...
There’s a lot of learning sitting on those 4 tires. Even if he can’t finish it and loses money on the sale, it will definitely be worth the lessons he learns. If it were my kid, I would spring for the cost to relocate the gas tank out of the cab, especially if it is an older gas tank.
That is one thing that Biden is going to fix for you, of course many people will lose their job so you may not be able to afford a new car at 6000 under msrp
every one of my cars in the last 15 years have disk “hats” they do not include bearing races. They are easier to turn and get better results. They are also cheaper to Replace than the old style that included the whole hub.
Most calipers today are floating. .010 inch will not be noticed if both sides of the disk have The same runout. That is easy with a disk lathe because it cuts both sides at the same time. If you have a disk that is .010 out and that is one section of the disk is .010 thicker than another section...
It’s hard to beat factory setups for the last 10 years. There are some configurations like bigger displacement engines in the same engine block format that are nice but making a lot of changes can be a hassle.
I have seen a us general that looked good after a few years of light use. Are all US Generals the same quality?
Most brands I have seen have two or three levels of quality with the bottom tier being crap.
