  1. How to avoid going dumb when the buzzer beeps.

Wow I guess this is sort of like baseball for my son. We played our last rec ball earlier this month. We are now at a crossroad. Either we accept the fact that we enjoyed baseball and move on to something new or he decides its something he wants to pursue. If he wants to play middle school ball...
  2. How to avoid going dumb when the buzzer beeps.

These matches are certainly not major. Just a group of 18-24 guys coming together once a month to have a match. Nothing on the line but numbers on a score sheet. I need to work on the mental and physical of the match and not just shooting.
  3. How to avoid going dumb when the buzzer beeps.

I will definitely leave my phone in my bag. I normally sign in later but went 4th so I could get to another commitment/lunch earlier. I like the idea of taping to get extra walk throughs. I have focused on Glocks ( and a snub in my pocket ) for quite awhile. I try to stick to my carry gun...
  4. How to avoid going dumb when the buzzer beeps.

I think next match I may use my 34 or 4" k frame. I have been determined to use my 26 as its my carry gun. This past weekend I used my 19 and didn't see that much difference. I think with the 34 or K frame I know I can make the shots. The 34 is better suited for the match due to the larger frame...
  5. How to avoid going dumb when the buzzer beeps.

I try to learn something from each match. I guess if I do its a win. There is a lot there to marinate on. The video could have been made in response to my question. Ive only been at gun point a couple of times. I guess the fact Im the only one shooting and bullets are only going in one...
  6. How to avoid going dumb when the buzzer beeps.

I didnt take it as being a smart ass. I appreciate all feedback.
  7. How to avoid going dumb when the buzzer beeps.

I've heard everyone has a plan until they get popped in the mouth. I have been shooting our local matches and find that I have a great plan when I get to the matches. My plan is to focus on accuracy because misses add time fast. I have found that when the RO says "shooter ready" I take a deep...
  8. So, how do the majority of gun owners afford to shoot often? I’m not referring to those who reload.

I would suggest wherever you try that if you have not bought from them before google the website exactly as it is listed. There are a lot of scam sights that are one letter off and such. Ive had good luck ordering from Freedom muntions and normashooting.com. Norma is in Savannah and I got my...
  9. So, how do the majority of gun owners afford to shoot often? I’m not referring to those who reload.

You forgot the guy that always seems to have a case of whatever ammo his agency buys. I try to buy a little ammo each month. I try to buy more than I shoot. I also try to buy primers and powder in case the time comes that loading 9mm is necessity but for now I only load 38 special. I have a...
  10. Humbling day at the range.

The weekend following I finally gave in and attended the monthly defensive handgun match held at Camp Sumter in Andersonville. I have actually attended for the last three months. Each month I feel like I learn something and each time I pick up a pointer from someone watching. One of the most...
  11. Hammered Pair Training: June class schedule

I had never heard the term until someone shared of picture of him doing a hammered pair. Thats quite impressive.
  12. Humbling day at the range.

Guess who cleaned the course with a 317? No doubt the accuracy and shooting was the easy part. The mechanics are what ate my lunch. I hate to admit I never practice the other stuff. All of the stuff I can do for free and just require effort. I’ve got to spend some time in the yard just going...
  13. Humbling day at the range.

I shot my 34 and my 19. I failed the LA swat qualifier. A friend passed it with a 2” 22 317. I also failed the Georgia law enforcement test. Today was quite humbling. Goes to show just shooting at plates and shooting groups does prepare you to shoot course of fire. The guns are capable. I feel I...
  14. Preventing getting in a blur when taking a shot.

I dont know about the first one. I know I hit the second one. I changed his mind about coming our way.
  15. Preventing getting in a blur when taking a shot.

The other day I was in the woods and come up on a wild hog. All I had with me was my Glock 34. I didnt have a lot of time and a bad shot on a hog is a good shot. The hog paused and I took the shot. I got to thinking I aimed at the hog rather than trying to make a shot on a spot on the hog. I...

  19. Tactics - Drawing on Bad Guy

I think this guy did so much right. It is mentioned he shot with one hand and that he didnt have a quality holster. I wonder if he had dropped his phone if it would have drawn attention to him? I also wonder if he had been wearing a kydex holster if the click would have warned the bad guy?
