Went once couple years ago. Too crowded for my liking even before this virus was a thing. Interesting experience, but I just dont care enough about knives to deal with that many people in one place again.
While I like custom knives, that price point is a little steep to me for something I dont really know the quality of. At $100-$115 I might take a leap of faith, but at $150 I'll just buy another Esee with lifetime warranty.
Went for a couple hours this morning. Parking wasnt bad just after 10am. 1st time ever going. Ton of people there. Lot of interesting stuff. Didnt see anything I needed bad enough to buy. Saw quite a few knives I liked and would like to have, but dont really need and wasnt interested in spending...
I really don't want to try to hand file an edge on both sides of a 26 inch blade.
That would work if I had one or had access to one. I'm not buying a belt sander just to sharpen one machete.
Anyone near Roswell that sharpens machetes or know where I can go to get one sharpened. The new one I just got only has a rough ground edge from the factory and I can barely put a good edge on a pocket knife.
I have a few cheap ones for utility purposes and a couple for every day carry, but that's about it. Think I may have a couple of "collectible" Case type knives laying around somewhere that I got as gifts.
The Kershaw Oso Sweet is another good, cheap blade. I don't know if they can be found cheaper anywhere, but Cabela's had them for $29.99. I've been pretty impressed with how well it's held its edge. It's still almost razor sharp after skinning 2 deer this season.
