  4. 100% perfected the making of .41 Swiss brass/ammo

It also has some cracks in the stock, so I haven't totally made up my mind. I mainly bought it for a wall hanger. If I can thin epoxy and drizzle it into the cracks and I still need to clean the barrel well for a proper look see but I probably will. Sorry for the thread hijack

Bolt and other loose parts soak in hot tap water with "Simple Green", a scrub and rinse. After drying a wipe down with a rag with Balistol. Bolt is lubed with the Balistol / beeswax mixture from the swiss rifle forum. Bore gets hot tap water rinse with the kitchen sprayer. Then Balistol and a...
  7. WW II Mosin manufacturing footage

I know you can pull the ring on the swiss rifles for a second strike on the primer, I guess you can with a mosin too, just never thought about it. Need to cycle a swiss rifle by first pulling the firing pin back, see if it cycles easier as well.
  8. WW II Mosin manufacturing footage

Now I'm going to have to get one out of the safe and cycle it that way. Wonder if it makes the bolt easier to cycle.

  11. What should I do with this thing???

I am halfway kidding and halfway not, I'm not too far away if you change your mind. Seriously I would not be regretting you purchase one bit, Enfields are great shooters and one of the best bolt actions. Go have fun, you have one that you can't hurt the value no matter what you do. I saw a K31...

  14. GP 11 has reappeared.

From Classicfirearms.com it was $.62 ea. to the front door. When all I could get was the PPU at $.80 ea. delivered, I considered getting into reloading. A projectile ($.30), powder ($.15), and primer ($.05) added up to $.50 per round. Starting from scratch it was $300 worth of gear to get...

Got an email notice from Midway and from Classicfirearms.com Scored two cases, probably a lifetime supply for me.
  16. Swiss 1896/11

I finally shot my two rifles this past Saturday. Didn't really try to sight them in or anything mainly just a function test. I was saving the brass so I would slide the bolt back easy and pick it out. I noticed that the brass casings were barely warm to the touch, kind of freaky. Don't know if...
  17. Swiss 1896/11

Merry Christmas to me!! Cleaned and lubed and ready to shoot. This is probably going to start me down the reloading "rabbit hole" with the scarcity of swiss surplus ammo now. I have 200 to start and will definitely be saving the brass. What would it take for you to part with one of those...
