Nice pistol. I have a 1943 with an Ithaca Gun Co. slide and Union Switch & Signal frame. My Dad got it through CMP back in the late 60’s early 70’s. Here’s a reference for SN http://www.cruffler.com/ProductionDataPages/ColtAutoPistols/Model-1911A1.html
But that's like having a gorgeous wife and not banging her because you’re saving her for the next guy. Unwrap that rascal and shoot the **** out of it! :becky:
It may not have much monetary value but historically I think it’s a nice piece from a time when women secretly carried these small pistols in their purses (my great grandmother carried a .32). Thanks for sharing it and hopefully one of the ODT gun historians will be able to provide more information.
Don't forget to add a Tapco stock, thread the barrel for a muzzle brake and bore a couple of holes to mount a red dot scope.
Congrats on finding a very nice piece of history. Look forward to pics along the way.
The top square one looks like a german medical bandage kit and the bottom round one looks like a gas mask repair kit with replacement breathing valve washer and two eye lenses.
