Hi everyone, just wanted to welcome our newest sponsor, MR River Fishing!
Captain Matthew Robinson has been a buddy of mine since elementary school and I can safely say he's the best fisherman I've ever come across, he's been fishing the rivers around here for 30+ years and it really shows. I...

If you take a trip with Shane Watson's service then request Mike Rose to be your actual guide. If he's not available I'd ask for Jason Hammond. I took a trip with Shane himself once and it was horrible. No conversation, no joking around, nothing.
Cy with Extreme Stripers is great for Carter's...
I think they can see the braid. I wouldn't use anything larger than 6lb mono with a 1/16th rooster tail. I'd wait for the ultra light to come in but you could try tying on a 10-20 foot leader of 6lb test and see what happens.
Are you using a leader with it? You probably won't have much success if you're using just braid, and honestly its a little overkill for what you're doing. I use that same braid on my striper rods for 20+ lb fish.
At the one I referred to? Yes, there is a nice one for loading/unloading kayaks/canoes. If you have a boat on a trailer you have to back out about halfway across the river before it gets deep enough to launch it.
A great float trip is from the Cochran Shoals/285 park to this one. I haven't been...
If you go to that spot be sure to bring you a "normal sized" rod and a couple white flukes on jigheads and make a few casts, very good chance you could get a good size striper while you're out there, the hooch is full of them. One of my best striper fishing days ever came in that general area.
I got you covered! :D
I'm not much of a trout fisherman but I can tell you what I know. I've never fished above Morgan Falls dam but below the dam it is very easy to catch some small to medium size Rainbow Trout.
Get you a Shakespeare Micro-Spin Ultra Lightweight rod/reel combo from Walmart or...
Not by me :D
That lake is full of white bass and hybrids! One week last summer we had a 30 fish day and a 32 fish day, and one morning I had 21 fish day by myself in front of the dam.
