    After reading this thread and going through some of the same issues, I picked up a decoy blue heron to ward off the real bad ones. Crossing my fingers it works. Looks like one was almost poached but lost a good chunk of his face!!!

    Been seeing some Rainbow Trout, about 12-14" long in the river by me that have 1/2-1/4 of their bodies in black. I looked up Whirling disease, but these fish act extremely healthy. The black lines are almost perfect (symmetrical in some cases), not blotchy or scattered around the fishes body...

    Dumbass question- been reading that Trout fly fishing in the dead heat of the summer is no good for catch and release as it stresses the fish too much. If so, does fishing in the early AM or late PM work for them (Trout) with regards to more O2 in the water?
