Heading out if my girlfriend ever finishes getting ready. Saw 14 yesterday evening, but couldn't get her a clean shot at the buck she wanted to shoot.

I’m in the stand now. 34 degrees in Monroe county. Can’t see anything. Hear a ton of duck hunters calling though. Pretty cool. Preparing my nerves for the ensuing 45 mins of gun fire.

it was 29* at daylight and no wind this morning

got word of hogs in the creek bottom
all i seen was this fat Doe and got my feets wet
taking this one to the processor for a needy family
should yield about 45# of meat

Got what I thought was a doe. Turns out a big button buck. Happy and annoyed at the same time.

Went duck hunting this morning with my son in law, and an old friend that I don't get to see nearly often enough. Brand new spot we'd never hunted before. We set up on the wrong end of the lake, and I never fired a shot. Had ringnecks over the other end of the pond. Almost 100yds away. We watched the ducks feed for a good long while as I talked and caught up with my old friend for a couple of hours. After the ducks flew out, we built a small blind on the edge of the pond where we could cover both ends, and laughed/cut up til it was time to go.
It was a great hunt, that I really enjoyed and we're going again Saturday to try out the new blind.
