10/22 Porn

So it begins...

Thought I'd share this pic. My granddaughter shot this target the day before Thanksgiving. I posted it originally in the rimfire rifle thread.

Top hole was her first shot while zeroing her scope, one to the right of the bull was her second and she said she pulled it as soon as she shot, third was in the red and she put four more in a .5" group from 25 yards. She was shooting her talo tiger 10/22. Box stock rifle.

Alright guys I'm itching for something new to tinker around with. I have two 10/22's, one with a rather nice walnut stock without the barrel band. It's a mid-90's make with metal trigger and I keep it around because the stock is so nice and it is fairly accurate. I also have the original birch stock that's gathering closet dust. The other is a standard synthetic stock that sports a the lasermax laser and I use it as my nightly armadillo killer, it is super accurate.

The itching isn't from a dirty woman but my plan for a suppressor in 2017 and while I could have the factory barrel threaded I just don't think it'd look right. A standard tapered barrel with a 1.25" suppressor on the end?

So I'm at a crossroads. At this point I have four options that I can see. Option 1: Buy a threaded bull barrel and a hogue stock and do away with the synthetic stock, accurate factory barrel and laser.
Option 2: Buy the 10/22 takedown target.
Option 3: Buy the 10/22 target tactical and have the barrel threaded.
Option 4: Build from the ground up as many of you have done.

Option 1 is obviously cheaper and can be done quickly since it is the cheaper route but the question is, what barrels should I consider?

The purpose of this is to have a hunt and paper punching accurate .22 that I can suppress while not looking awkward.

So, what say you?

Lots of options!!! Green Mountain offers several threaded barrels, so do Federson and also Kidd. Kidd has threaded bull barrels from 16.5" and up and ultra light weight to polished true heavy barrels. There is a nice Fajen laminated .920 stock for sale on here now too for $100 which is a very good price.

Don't forget TacSol barrels.. Very light and I have found very accurate especially with Standard Velocity CCI..
