11/13/22 Deer Hunt.

Got sat down about 30 minutes ago. Before I got fully sat down and before I got my gun up I had 2 does come by.

Wife just had a small buck come by.

Ended up seeing 15 does and six young bucks this morning. I decided to move to a clearcut this evening, but the wind is howling. Hard to spot deer movement when everything is moving. I did see an ear and a tail a few minutes ago.

Went in early and only had to sit about 45 minutes for this guy. He’s a little smaller than I thought he was, I might have let him walk if I could do it again but he’s meet in the freezer.

The wide 6 is down! Turns out that he is actually a 7 pointer. Caught him cruising a food plot at 3:23! Shimmied down and drug him over to the tree, back up the tree for more action!

Well fellas I shot one. I'm not too happy with myself, he came in and was limping just like my target buck does and didn't even pay attention to the rack and shot him. He ran about 70 yard total but if he had ran a straight line it might have been 35. I'm a little mad at myself for rushing to make the shot and not ensuring it was the deer I thought it was. Part of me is happy for the opportunity but still not happy at myself for taking one I'd let walk.

Same thing happened to me a couple weekends ago but my freezer is full.
