18 Year old Handgun Laws

Call your local court office or sheriffs dep't and ask them , I would feel betterhearing it from them, or lawyer

Considered an extension of your home by ga state castle doctrine. As long as you have no felony record, and are 18 years old or older you may legally carry in your home, vehicle and place of work. ( at employer discression) as far as hassling you in your vehicle.. Ga is not an inform state, you don't have to say anything. Keep it concealed so the officers don't see it. Be able to speak this phrase calmly: "officer, I don't consent to any Searches." that will also protect you. Keep a sheet containing both federal and state handgun laws. Most importantly, keep your nose clean. It's legal to carry vehicular at 18 no problem, just know how to cover your ass.

Well that about sums it up and is accurate. Thanks Meatwad. ^^^^^^^^

Don't do anything illegal while legally carrying a weapon or then it becomes illegal to have. Do know the law and your rights . Lastly, be polite and mind your manners even if someone is being abrasive or unreasonable. Everyone has a chain of command, except God. If someone pounding the ground is fuzzy on the rules of engagement, a supervisor has responsibility to clarify any issues such as those of arrest or detention. However make an azz of yourself or lose your temper and it can ruin your day, even if you are technically right.

As long as the car is in your name, you are fine to carry there.

I do not think so!

From 16-11-126

(d) Any person who is not prohibited by law from possessing a handgun or long gun who is eligible for a weapons carry license may transport a handgun or long gun in any private passenger motor vehicle; provided, however, that private property owners or persons in legal control of property through a lease, rental agreement, licensing agreement, contract, or any other agreement to control access to such property shall have the right to forbid possession of a weapon or long gun on their property, except as provided in Code Section 16-11-135.

He is not eligible and therefore can not have the gun in his car..... but if under 18

16-11-132 states

(E) Traveling to or from any activity described in subparagraphs (A) through (D) of this paragraph if the handgun in such person's possession is not loaded;

Gee Wizzzz Ga code sections are kinda clear like mud.

16-11-126 also states.....

(a) Any person who is not prohibited by law from possessing a handgun or long gun may have or carry on his or her person a weapon or long gun on his or her property or inside his or her home, motor vehicle, or place of business without a valid weapons carry license.

(b) Any person who is not prohibited by law from possessing a handgun or long gun may have or carry on his or her person a long gun without a valid weapons carry license, provided that if the long gun is loaded, it shall only be carried in an open and fully exposed manner.

(c) Any person who is not prohibited by law from possessing a handgun or long gun may have or carry any handgun provided that it is enclosed in a case and unloaded.
