25 yards scope sighting in???'s

If you want a 50 yard zero that will be close to a 200 yard zero:
Measure the height of the optic over the bore (center of the scope to center of bore). At 25 yards zero the rifle below the aiming point by half of this distance.

At 50 yards and closer the bullet is still climbing to reach the near zero, and gravity has a negligible effect. The bullet is on its way to a 50 yard zero and will be halfway up at 25 yards.

This should put you zeroed at 50 yards, which will be close to zeroed at 200 yards, too. This is a good all around zero for most people. It will work with most centerfire cartridges except for the slow ones (300 blackout, 7.62x39, etc.)
