i have a CMMG barrel and it notes both calibers on the barrel

The benefits to using the Blk are that if you want to run sub loads or standard velocity are the simple change of a magazine in AR platforms.
If you have a 300 barrel in 8 twist or even 7. You can run 130 grn or 208-220 grn loads. 130 grn is bad for hogs .

PS, the 8" barrels are ideal for all 300 AAC rounds. However,, the 16" barrels do not function well with sub-sonic ammo.

So, if you want the best of both worlds, get the 8" barrel.

Ehhh.. Not quite. The major difference is that Whisper is a wildcat cartridge, and Blackout is SAAMI standardized.

Ah. I should say, the power delta between 38 and 357 is considerably wider. The difference between those two 300 cartridges.. Is negligible, at best.
