Take what you shoot the best. I have killed dozens of deer with a 357 Blackhawk with a 4 5/6" barrel. Shots never more than 40 yards, never had one move. Have killed deer with 41 mag, 44 special, and 44 mag. As long as I kept shots at distances I was comfortable with they were all down where they stood. But I practice year round and only use a pistol at short range when my centerfire rifle would be too much.
