Wheres the math gurus?
Just curious, I dont play but what would you have to spend to cover all possible combinations?

More than the jackpot?

I think it was GeauxLSU GeauxLSU who said it would take 2-1/2 years just to enter all the possible combinations if you entered one every second...but I'm not good with math but you get the idea.

Holy crap. 1 billion dollars. I know some folks dont like the lottery on principle but even they have to be having the "I'm weighing 2 dollars vs a crack, however slight, at being a billionaire next week" thoughts. A billion dollars is a major life changing event.

$302MM..... But that is not the issue... It is the 9 years it would take to run all the tickets at 1 second each...

Since Mega Millions modified the formula, players now pick five numbers from 1 to 70 and a Mega number of 1 to 25. The odds of winning the jackpot are now 1 in 302,575,350.

Lump sum, after taxes I believe (from past research) you clear somewhere around a third of the jack pot. After tax and everything a net of 340 million ish. I could give half of that to my family leaving me 170, invest 80 million dollars for future generations, spend 20 million off the bat, then spend a million dollars a year for the next 70 years (I'm 40 so unlikely although with that much money I might make 110 :) ) and still never go broke. Wouldnt do it like that but damn.
