7mm08 bullet selection!!!!!!

I have a Remington 700 sps stainless 7mm08 with 24" barrel that I wanna get some handloads done up for whitetail but can't decide on bullet selection. Shots are 150 yards and closer. I don't ever know if a deer is gonna be 30 yards or 150 so any opinions and info will help. Thanks

I don't think you can go wrong with any of the suggestions above. I have a 7mm-08 being rebarreled that I have never fired. So, I have no practicle experience in this caliber.

I have loaded some ammo for its future use; I went with the Hornady 162 grain Soft Point Boat Tail. It is a traditional type deer bullet with an incredible BC of .514 and they happen to be cheap enough for range shooting.

I figured it would work well in the Georgia woods from 50 to 200 yards.

I realize you are handloading, but a factory loaded Hornady Interlock did well this weekend.

Never used them. That's a soft pointed bullet correct?

I had bad luck with the SST fragmenting real bad in another caliber so they got me kinda scared of them on close shots

I've always used the 120 ballistic tip. It works well.
