9 1/2" super red hawk cut down to Alaskan? Worth the effort?

Cutting a revolver barrel is just wrong...

Ehhhh....it's a wheel gun. Make it a snubby! Leave 1/2" for the gun, keep the other 9" to use as a club.

They are about as scarce as a $300 Super Redhawk!

I'd keep the bargain gun as is and look for a bargain Alaskan.

Yep..Or sell the Redhawk, and buy a Alaskan.
There's some major expense in cutting down a barrel, cutting the slots for the sight.

I would gladly trade it for you or sell, but the only Alaskan I found is $1,100. I don't see getting that for the 9 1/2"

Just my 2cents. You got a good deal, $300, on the gun. If you spend the money to have the alterations done, you will have a gun worth, maybe $300. Heck, sell the gun for what it is worth now, and save up for an Alaskan. Just my 2 cents.

But, Brian Ott does very good work if you decide to go ahead with the alterations.

I think it's a great idea, turning a long pistol into something more "carryable".
