A 1911 from BCM?!

I've never owned a 1911 although I do enjoy shooting them. I have to say though that thing is sweet. If they release a threaded version, it would be very tempting...

Whats an extra couple hundred bucks to have it threaded if you're buying that pistol?? That would be one helluva purchase to be your first 1911!

The last time I checked Wilson Combat did not offer threaded barrels, only extended barrels you could get threaded. That wouldn't be an issue, but I would love to see a factory threaded version.

Looks cool and built with BCM and Wilson quality. But I'm not sure of the market niche they are after, unless there's a price break over a Wilson. That is, why buy this one over a Wilson apart from aesthetics, if they are priced essentially the same?

True. But it's going to be a limited run and will appeal to a small market segment of BCM fans who also like really nice 1911s. I'm not familiar with the Wilson lineup. Do they sell a model that is blacked out with a solid trigger shoe?

ouch... they will take your $100 reservation but no final price...

It's a confession from them that they have no idea how many to make or where to price them. Once they gauge initial interest they'll price it, and they lose a few buyers and maybe pick up a few. It's a gamble, but you could end up with a 1 of 50 (or less) collector's item, and if they don't sell many, they wont try it again.

Yes and no. They sell a model called the X Tac which is very similar to that "BCM" gun. It's Wilson Combat though and they'll build you whatever you want...

Unless there's a price advantage I don't get the point. I'd rather just buy a Wilson CQB Tactical LE and be done with it.
