Honestly, the classifieds themselves make a thread like this unnecessary. For most items the churn of the classifieds will tell you what you need to know about pricing. Is a standard issue G19 worth $650? Watch for a couple of weeks to see how many times it gets relisted.

Agreed. And you are right, being too serious about this takes all the fun out of it.

But it can be an expensive hobby...and a little dickering is usually fun too.
