AAC prodigy .22 silencer or ????

MSRP is $500 and I've seen them on the net for low $400, what can would you recommend?

Depends on what is most important to you really, but I would recommend a Silencerco Sparrow if it will get alot of time on both rifles and pistols, and a SWR Spectre if you will use it more so on pistols.

If you want an aluminum can for weight or cost issues, then the SWR Warlock cannot be beat for price, ease of cleaning, and suppression.

wait a few minutes and someone will be along to tell you why the whole idea is stupid and your choice is chock-full-o-fail

So the thought of buying a silencer is stupid? Oh well I've never claimed to be smart lol.

He is just saying ignore the haters.

Kinda...
I guess I am getting jaded by all of the people that refuse to admit to the possibility of 'Preference' as opposed to 'fact'

so many people here confuse the two and steer people into purchases they may not be happy with instead of offering sound advice.

ie The Ford vs. Chevy vs. whatever argument...

Both make the same basic models
both turn out lemons at times.
Hell Toyota is in deep with recalls and quality issues

preference

I Swear you could have a 1911 hand crafted by John Moses Browning's Ghost from his halo and Blessed by Samuel Colt and someone here would think it's p00p

I'm assuming the can will be used on the pistol more than the rifle but do plan to switch it back and forth. I would like to be able to swap to different calibers but it's not a deal breaker either way. I want it to be narrow enough that I can use the sites on the pistol to without having to guess by looking at the can. I don't mind cleaning guns so I don't figure it's going to be a deal breaker. And I don't want to go over $400.

How hard/easy is it to clean a baffled can?

Well all cans are baffled, I suppose you mean between stack on baffles and monocores?
With a small ultrasonic cleaner from Harbor Freight it is very easy. I use this method when I am not dipping the can.

I have this and it is awesome.

FYI you don't ultrasonic the tube, just the baffles, you don't put items with much of a finish in an ultrasonic because you risk the finish getting worn by the vibrations. It's the same for monocores.

Heres how I use the dip, but now that I've got more experience under my belt, I leave it in the dip for longer with more vinegar than hydrogen peroxide and it comes out squeaky clean, I only oil and cloth wipe if after I remove it now. I leave the lead acetate in the jars and pay a couple of bucks at a local auto repair shop for hazmat removal.
