00 ought sand makes a better surface and better finish. Found that anything else makes for a smoother finish

I'm very pleased with how it turned out, can't wait to get it installed on my A4. It was a new old stock barrel, and I still had a container of the old grease that it was packed in left over from when I originally got the barrel. I'm gonna let it sit coated in it for awhile.
