I've owned both the Ruger and the Mossberg. I preferred the Mossberg. The Ruger was heavier and didn't swing as well for me. Triggers were roughly equivalent. Both suppressed equally well, also. Definitely a personal preference as I didn't see anything objectively better about the Ruger, unless you consider the stainless steel and laminate wood stock as "better."

Fair points. The Ruger model I'm looking at is a polymer stock which means the weight is about the same. The stainless is a plus, but not necessarily a plus given the price differentials.
 
Look at the ruger American go wild Aics mag Model #26926. Like a scout in some ways, maybe a little better.
 
Currently wearing a z5 Swarovski 2.5-12x50 2# trigger and .74 groups at 100 with hornady superformance
