Ahhh you preppers are a bunch of nutjobs!

Do you all carry this with you daily or just when bad weather is predicted?

I have a basic bag that is in the car all of the time, and if there is something like this on the horizon I fortify it with extras. I'm a little leery of leaving too much in the car 24/7 that could be stolen. I have some good hidey spots, but I don't count on them.

Most people view folks that are prepared/prep as people that think the end is near and zombies will roam the earth. When will people realize that taking the necessary precautions IS to be prepared for most types of emergencies and not some end of the world scenario. I have a long way to go in my quest to be prepared but what happened yesterday has made me realize that MOST people have not taken step one to care for themselves. Knowing this has also made me realize that silence is golden on what I have "put away" for an emergency since I only have enough for my family.

Amen, bro.

The Scout Motto is: BE PREPARED which means you are always in a state of readiness in mind and body to do your DUTY.(Wiki)

If you were a Scout, the rest of your experiences just let you hone your skills and situational awareness.

Gas, Propane, wood, food, staples, a pool full of water, generator, 3 fireplaces, condoms, etc..... I was taught, don't ever leave the house in your car without being prepared to walk.

Raised just off the shores of lake Erie. Heck, we were always prepared.

I bet not a lot of Mormons in Georgia were caught unprepared by the snow/ice issues.

Bottom-line: mistakes happen and we can always do better, but at the end of the day, we all have to be responsible for ourselves and our won.
