I know absolutely nothing about AK Rifles except the Caliber. What is the difference in a WASR and an Mpap? I would bet ya'll have been asked this question a million times! LOL

1) A WASR is Romanian and an N PAP is Serbian.
So components and function are the same?

2) Serbian and Yugoslavian furniture is unique to their make of AKs. Romania share the furniture fitment with others as standard AKM pattern.

WASR is lighter, N Pap is heavier,
Wasr have chrome lined barrel, N pap doesn't
Wasr uses all standard size ak parts, N pap uses different ak furniture and a few RPK parts.
Get the Wasr, my 2 cents.

My wife has a WASR... The knucklehead who owned it before her spray-painted all the furniture black. I'm not sure what's underneath it. Do you think it's worth recovering the original wood?
