Always have your eye pro on!!!

My S&W 2206 threw its rear sight directly into my glasses, in line with my eyeball. The sight screw sheared off. Not sure if it would have cost me an eyeball, but the scratch in those eyeglasses remind me of how important it is to wear eye protection when shooting.

S&W fixed it (rivet instead of screw) and had it back to me in less than two weeks.

I once had a complete 115 grain 9mm FMJ come back at me and hit me in the head.

After it thumped me I walked over to a table to take off my earpro and the bullet fell onto the table - it had wedged between my noggin and my earpro band. It took a few days for the knot on my head to go away.

I always wear eye protection.
