Any Bicyclists in the house? Road? Mountain? Hybrid?

I don't ride up here in the North Georgia mountains, or even hills. I hate gaining elevation on 2 wheels !
I carry my hybrid (wide saddle, tall straight handlebar, but 700C x 22mm tires with 100 p.s.i. in them) on my bike rack to ATL belt line or the Silver Comet Trail to ride.
I want to stay away from 4-wheel traffic and hills. The rails-to-trails thing works for me.

I love road riding but I do it safely. If I get whacked my wife is very wealthy. LOL. I 100% give all motorized vehicles the utmost respect and give way all the time. I wave like a fool and try to look as congenial as possible. Makes for a better experience. I refuse to ride at rush hour. I only go on certain routes I know very well.

It takes quite a few hours of riding until your muscles adjust to the new format. Put in more time on it before you give up. My road bike is much, much faster and easier to cover paved ground on than any mountain bike could ever hope to be.

Finding the right seat and ensuring good fitment is key.
This.
I went thru at least 6 seat swaps before I found one that didn't feel like I was riding on the skinny edge of a 2x4!:becky:
