Picked up a new PMR30 yesterday, and am just amazed at how little it weighs... When I was paying for it, I picked up the box, and made them open it to verify that there was a pistol and 2 mags inside, it was that light.

I loaded it up with 30 rounds of CCI MaxiMags, 40gr... and it's insane how light this pistol is. It's a lot lighter than any of my other larger carry guns. It feels closer to my Bodyguard 380 Crimson Trace than it is to my G43x...

Assuming it proves reliable... A gun with nice, easy to pick out fiber optic sights, that weighs nothing, that is accurate with negligible recoil and packs 30 rounds of .22Mag... It seems like it could be a decent carry gun. It's larger size is offset by it's weighing close to half of what a similar sized 9mm would weigh...

It dropped in and clicked into my Fobus EVO paddle holster for my Glock 17, which is a plus.

Thoughts?

Oh... I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend the American Speedloaders Nest style magazine loader for it. Makes loading those magazines soooo much more enjoyable. Plus it loads them the correct way and does it FAST. Trust me, buy one and thank me later

I love the PMR30 over 500 through it since I got mine 3-4 weeks ago. Never had a problem. 3 mags. I’ve shot 30gr vmax, 40gr maxi-mags FMJ and HPs, Hornady 45 grain critical defense, Aguila soft point, boom boom boom boom boom boom boom

Watching it stack up with 5.7 and the reliability mine has shown me combined with the insane weight and capacity I’ve seriously considered it

It's not reliable enough. If you want a light .22 caliber to attempt to defend your life with, buy a FN Five-Seven. Either way, a .22 pistol is a terrible defense weapon.
