Anyone have a beretta 28ga?

Good to see the "Once in a Lifetime" hunt could become a regular event.
I’m hooked. Now I just need to get rich so I can afford to be a bird hunter.

You spent the day hunting with your son... many would say you are already rich beyond compare.

Would not trade the times that I hunted with my father nor the times I hunted and chased clay targets with my son for anything.

That Beretta is expensive for a kid. But if he can take care of it, he'll have his heirloom already

Buy expensive things when you’re young and the cost average is significantly less over time. He will we have this gun for the rest of his life. My dad bought me many quality guns as a kid and I still have them all.

Wonderful. Usually when you're young, you can't afford nice things

For quail hunting, the "baby frame" 28 ga. 686 Silver Pigeon is a solid choice.
It is built on the same action and weighs the same as the 410. For short range work, it can pattern better than the 20 ga. You both can enjoy it for a lifetime.
Sole Oak Supply Sole Oak Supply in Fayetteville listed some nice Beretta shotguns a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks, The Deals on the 28Ga 686 sold out before I could post them.

I'm a 28ga guy myself, I bought a cheap Yildiz several years ago to try it out, and use as a knock around dog training gun. I don't like cheap stuff, but I love that gun. It only weighs about 5.5lbs, and is a sweet little gun and made a beliver out of me for the 28ga.
I can't shoot a Beretta because they don't have enough drop. I have thought many times about upgrading to a Franchi, Browning, or a lesser known premium gun, and will one day. For the time being the Yildiz gets the job done, and for a kid it would be a great learning gun, and if you need to cut the stock it won't be a big deal.

Last I saw, even though Yildiz makes a baby frame 28ga, the gun Academy sells is on the 20ga frame. I would like to hear that is dated info. I will drive to the nearest Academy and buy one.

Stevens 555 28ga compact is a baby frame, but it costs more than a Yildiz and doesn't have as good warranty service.
