AR’s What brands to stay away from?

After damn near 30 years of building, buying, shooting, fixing, running around my house naked with making brrttt noises, I’ve settled on Colt only. I don’t buy it if it’s not a factory Colt.

I own others that I have owned for years, but I don’t buy anything that not a Colt these days.

When did they get bought out and the original guys go Windham?
Big green bought them in 06 and moved them up to NY.
I've never had a windham weaponary but have heard they dont live up to the pre buy out bushmaster. Why idk just what ive heard.
The Bama made bushys seem to be good as well but cost definitely went up.

From what little I know there must be 2 types of AR owners. Type 1 is full time operator/ instructor type that will burn through 5K rounds in a year. THAT type of guy probably needs a top tier rifle. Then there is Type 2 ( AKA ME) I can't afford the ammo the Type 1 guys burn through . Not to mention the rifle. So to ME ...if your rifle functions and runs through the amount of ammo you can afford to test it out with then I say THAT is the AR for YOU. If we were all " Going to war " tomorrow I wouldn't give my ARs a second look. I would grab my Yugo AK. But that's just me and I am no operatorby.
Going to war tomorrow you say! I'll grab my remmy 1100.
