AR Castle Nut / Backer Plate Removal

Well if you have any other issues let us know! After building 4 Ar-15s you pick up on a LOT of do's and don'ts. I learned the hard way NOT to cheap out on a castle nut wrench. Bought the cheap one and had to buy another castle nut! UGH

Good advice. I have the "Cheapo" wrench and although it works, something more heavy-duty would have been nicer.
However, I would still have done the filing as the "Stake" was driven deep and I have no desire to crack a $100 receiver to save $5 nut!

hah yeah. The cheapo wrench does work. I just put electrical tape to stop the edge from marring the castle nut. I use it as a back up when I lose my wrench. Can NEVER seem to keep hold of it!
