Are Drs. Fishing for Dollars?

Yeah know the feeling I eat to fast eater thanks to Army. Have sweet tooth to. Just remember this chunky boys like us if no grub around we survive longs we got water. Kinda like bear living off winter fat.
Yea, I had to eat fast my whole life. I still do...... :noidea:I just don't want to be hungry later. Fine line there

I don't get cut on for the **** of it. Neither does my wife. Last round of surgeries where and are to save her toes. Hereditary stuff. Mine have been to save an eye, then eyesight. Then save my life. Remove a tennis ball size cyst of my spine. Pre cancer and skin cancer
I dont doubt ya. But knee surgery is still elective. And doctors give advice based on ALL the known risks. It’s up to the patient to consent after learning the risks. But doctors are still gonna look for the risks with high risk patients because they will get sued if the person dies from a heart attack on the table and he didn’t bother to assess the heart before proceeding with a major elective surgery.

If a person wants to stay mobile, knee surgery isn't elective. My wife is probably goin to need that as well. Without being mobile is a death sentence. I've seen this first hand

Some would rather be in a wheelchair than die in the table. If they did a chemical stress test, it’s because the person is already in heavily elevated risk category.

Agreed if that’s your perspective, but some still prefer not to risk death on the table. If you are willing to risk it, that’s your call and you will have made an informed choice. But that doesn’t change the fishing question. They are not fishing for money. They are assessing risk so you can make an informed decision.

I’ve had a ton of medical procedures including open heart surgery and knee surgery. So I don’t take this stuff lightly. Are there some bad docs who may be guided by $$? Sure. There is bad everything. Bad cops, bad teachers, bad lawyers, yada yada. But I prefer to believe most doctors have your best interest in mind.

Had the open heart as well. It was do or die. I'm definitely use what you were born with as long a you can. Then do somethin about it

The only elevated risk category that I'm in is that I'm 72. If you read the 1st post, it was the DOCTOR that decided I couldn't walk the treadmill even though I walk at least 5 miles a week in pain because of my knee. I've been doing that for the last 3 years and will probably be doing that for the rest of my time on earth because he thought he knew better than I.

Yeah....well....my neighbor had his knee replaced.....blood clot to the brain....DRT!!!
Sounds like your neighbor had a stroke not a heart condition. Maybe the Drs. should have checked his blood pressure. Oh, wait that doesn't cost extra...........yet
