Are older Z3's garbage?

Miatas have a following, as do S2000s and that makes them desirable. Older Z3s have a folowing too, as do older BMWs, as in owners are constantly following them to a repair shop.

The Z3's arent garbage. The early ones have their issues and those issues were addressed as the years went by. They are by no means cheap to fix and reliability is a relative term for some.

Wasn't there a problem with the car ripping itself apart when pushed. Like actually tearing the body panels around the rear suspension mounts??

My wife has a 98 Z3 with the 2.8. Never had a problem, fast as hell (143 by GPS). I've offered to buy her another car and she won't even talk about getting rid of hers
