Are some of us not meant to shoot striker fired pistols?

The Glock will be history soon. The main reason for the post was to see if others have had the same experience.

I did initially with Glock pistols but I can say I stuck with it and have now run hundreds of thousands of rounds of ammo through Glock 17 and 19's over the years. Fairly decently I might say. It just took some time. To me the idea of a handgun I did not have to do pretty much anything to, to maintain won the argument.

Seriously though, very few people shoot that much, and train very thoroughly. Just a fact. Most people talk far more about guns than spend time learning to use them.

I have a friend who is the opposite. I have watched him tear up the 10 ring of a target with a Glock at 35 yards, but given a dao gun, he couldn't hit a barn while standing inside it.

I have a Beretta PX4 which has a hammer and a MP which is striker fired, both shoot well with the beretta a slight edge due to the trigger feel- which is a personal preference not a defect with the mp.Maybe that is what the difference is for you.

Am I just not meant to fired striker fired pistols? Should I sell/trade the G17 and replace it with something hammer fired, and just stick with them?

Thoughts? Suggestions?

i'm the same way. i don't shoot strikers very well. and i like the comfort of having a hammer and seeing how far i i have to pull the trigger b4 it hits

i've shot xd, xdm, xds, glock 17, 19, 22,26, 23, m&p 9/357/40, and at least a dozen more striker fires hoping that it wasn't the guns that shot poorly. but it was me.

and that's why i love my sigs now. trying to get my hands on a fnp/fnx now that i see the father in law has one.

Confused??? Maybe its just me But I never pay attention to that. Mainly cause its not in focus when your looking at your target.
You should know your trigger travel distance by feel.

i'm not that good yet. i have very quick eyes. can focus and redirect focus super fast. i can glance at my sights/target then to my hammer and then back again w/o losing focus of my target

I have the opposite problem. I have been shooting striker fired guns for so long that when I got my FNP9 I did not shoot it well. I have the same issue with my Sig P229R. I am more comfortable and accurate with striker fired guns.

It seems that when I corrected the low and left issue most people have with striker fired weapons is when my accuracy with a traditional hammer fired weapon dropped.
