Always loved the look of that car…. there was a guy at my high school that drove one…. I drove a 280Z 2+2 for 23 years which was as close as I could find with those "lines"….

That car was far better than the Jag

The Jag is "pretty" but my Z for SURE didn’t require and much maintenance and tinkering…..

I agree, there are some Jags I really like. But they do have a problem with reliability. The Z car was pretty solid

For a mid-70s car, it was reliable and pretty low maintenance…. over 23 years I put about 200k miles on it…. never did anything to the engine more than adjust valves and change oil regularly…. replaced the water pump a few times and replaced the valve seals at about 180k…. sold it about 20 years ago with the original clutch that still worked great at 225k miles…. most European imports require constant "tinkering"….

I'm curious, did you ever get a fuel smell in the rear C-pillar area inside? The earlier 240's and 260's were notorious for this because of a venting issue. I was thinking that they had pretty much made that go away by the mid-70's. That was a beautiful car BTW!!!

Never had that issue…. you know that little "Z-car" emblem on the C-pillar actually covered an air vent for the passenger compartment…. the only time I had a fuel smell in the car was after the car was 20+ years old and the injector braided fuel lines started cracking…. at first, they would only weep on really cold mornings until the engine warmed up and the rubber softened/swelled…. eventually replaced the fuel lines to prevent an engine fire

Loved my 73 240Z I was going to drop a 350 in it, but a drunk driver hit me and totaled it..She was sweet

I can only claim credit for the "screenshots" on this post…. but this was my youngest daughter bungee jumping from the Bloukrans Bridge in South Africa when she was there in 2013 studying at University of Capetown…. the bridge is 700+ feet above the river gorge…. when the gyrations stop, the jumper hangs upside down by the cord and waits for a retriever to descend by cable and winch to bring them back up to the bridge….

I thought she had great "Olympic form" as she leaped out into the abyss though….
